   the sidebar instance of this widget, shows a mysterious “>” before the sliding
   images. It doesn’t happen in my footer instance. Can you help me get rid of it?

 * that widget is using some unordered list html tags which are inheriting their
   formatting from the style of `.widget ul li {}` in the theme’s stylesheet;
    it
   is not showing in the footer because the footer wisgets are applying a different
   style. you might need to overwrite that with a new style, possibly using a ‘custom
   CSS’.
 * please use a browser inspection tool for those kind of formatting issues.
