 * How do I make a sidebar appear on all of my individual blog posts when someone
is viewing them individually? I went to Appearance, widgets, and added in code
to the main sidebar, which shows up now on the main blog url. But when you’re
viewing an individual post, you don’t see it. How do I add a sidebar there?
 * In another thread, someone mentioned something about going to pages. When I go
to pages, I actually don’t have anything there other than sample page. All of
   my stuff is under posts.

 * twenty eleven. I don’t have the ability to change my theme, my blog is a fundraising
blog given to me under the head charity’s main blog.
 * Since I also forgot my version, its 3.8.5 and here is the site: [http://blog.workndog.org/lin/](http://blog.workndog.org/lin/)

 * Try checking your theme’s single.php template and make sure it has a call for
   the sidebar near the bottom:
 * `<?php get_sidebar(); ?>`

 * Also, if the themes template didn’t allow for a sidebar, how would I be able
to have the main sidebar? Or is there a different entry in the themes php template
for a main sidebar vs a sidebar that appears on individual blog posts?
 * To reiterate and clarify, I have a working sidebar that appears when you go to
the site. However, when you are only viewing a single blog post the sidebar does
not appear. How do I make a sidebar appear when viewing individual blog posts.

 * I’ve just started trying to add images/posts to the ‘profitmag’ theme, but the‘
theme options’ don’t really explain very much and my posts aren’t showing up?
 * Also, the terminology is not very clear ie. ‘block 2, block 3’

 * **[@david](https://wordpress.org/support/users/david/) Hamburgh** – you are not
using this theme – you need to **start your own thread** in the forum for your
   theme here:

 * I found that link on google, but it says I have to create a childs theme. As
of right now, I do not have the ability to change my theme.
 * So, is this the only way to do it?
 * If so, how do I get the head blog to give me the ability to change theme? They’re
not very tech savy so I need to explain to them how to do it if its possible.

 * Here is the main blog. They do not have sidebars on individual posts either it
   seems. [http://blog.workndog.org/](http://blog.workndog.org/)

 * Yep, that’s because Twenty Eleven theme isn’t coded that way. So, unfortunately,
given the limitations of your site, there’s no way for you to change that.
 * I’m assuming you don’t have any other themes you can use?
 * You really should talk to whoever runs this network of sites – first off, they
are using an old version of WP which is very insecure – ALL of the sites could
easily get hacked. And second, they should be providing better support if they
are not giving admin status to site owners like you!
 * I’m sorry I don’t know what else to suggest at this point, except that, depending
on your project/site, perhaps you should consider setting up your own site. Maybe
   even on WordPress.COM –

 * As far as I know, I do have admin status…. How would I determine for sure?
 * you asked about other themes, but if I can’t change my theme isn’t that moot?
 * If I don’t have admin status, how would it be given to me? The person in charge
of everything isn’t very tech savy, so I’m sure she’d do what I request but needs
to know how. So how would I get the option to be able to change themes so I could
   do a childs theme?

 * From what I can tell, you site is part of a [Network of sites](http://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network)–
which means that there is a SuperAdmin – who controls what you can do. You do
not have full control over your site – otherwise, you would be able to change
themes, update WP, modify theme files, etc.
 * No offense to her, but that person in charge really should get some technical
assistance with WP – if the entire network of sites gets hacked (which it very
well could using that outdated a version of WP) – she will have a VERY big mess
   to deal with.
 * She should be able to control what themes you can use…but then again, I have
no idea how that network is actually set up.
