 * Hello,
    I designed a Twenty Ten theme website about 3 years ago and have left
   it in the clients hands since. Although I told them not to update the theme and
   they say they have not, I have a suspicion they might have done so.
 * Either way the site is now offline and the code below is what I see in my ftp
   error log. I can’t recall how I did the child/parent theme and I am now trying
   to rectify the sidebars.php code with no luck. I have searched for hours with
   no luck online 🙁

 * That error message implies that the site is using the Hatch theme – not Twenty
   Ten or a child theme. Try switching to the default 2012 theme by renaming your
   current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end 
   of the folder name using [FTP](http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients) or whatever
   file management application your host provides.

 * the error mesage might also imply that the client is **not **running the latest
   version of WordPress
 * `get_theme_support()` was introduced in wp3.1
