# Simple email subscription

 * Let’s say I want someone to be able to subscribe to be notified by email when
   there’s a new post. What are good plugins for that?
 * I’m taking a look at Subscribe2, but I’m worried the subscribe process is too
   elaborate. I don’t need users that can subscribe, I just need subscribers. (If
   the distinction makes sense.)
 * And there’s a plugin called “Email Notification” that sounds promising but hasn’t
   been updated since 2005.
 * Ideally, there’s a text field in the sidebar, where they can submit their email.
   They get an email for confirmation and a link to unsubscribe again.

 * It isn’t really a plugin, but I use MailChimp to do just that: [http://www.mailchimp.com/](http://www.mailchimp.com/)
 * With MailChimp you can create RSS Campaigns using your WordPress feed(s). It 
   is definitely worth checking out! They provide a WordPress plugin so people can
   subscribe right on your site.
