 * Hi all,
 * I’m displaying feeds on a page with SimplePie and Exec-PHP and it’s throwing
   an error message that the wp-content/cache folder is unwriteable. Perms are set
   to 777.
 * Even worse, the SimplePie config in admin reports that the cache folder is missing.
   Also, weirdly, the images on the SP config page are broken with weird URLs similar
   to [http:///wp-content/plugins&#8230](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/simplepie-reports-cache-folder-unwriteablemissing/?output_format=md);
   etc, ie. no domain name.
 * Does SimplePie not know where my WP’s root is?
 * Anyone suggest a fix?
 * SimplePie version is 2.1.2

 * Downgrading SimplePie to 2.1 solves these issues.

 * I have the same problem, where can I get a copy of the older version. Its not
   apparent on the SimplePie site.

 * I am having the same problem and I have looked all over for a legacy 2.1 release
   too with no luck

 * The fix in the first lines fixes this issue – don’t know why they just don’t
   release a fixed plugin version – it’s quite simple.
