simplescript 2 1.1.6 parse/syntax error

    when I click on category links, I am getting this message:

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/etegrity/public_html/fridaynightfolk/wp-content/themes/simplepress-2/index.php on line 27
    with URL http://www.fridaynightfolk.org/?cat=34

    Can you tell me what I need to do to resolve the issue.
    I should be seeing a category with list of posts.

    you would need to have a very close look into index.php of your theme, line 27 (although the actual error could be in any line before that)

    or paste the content of index.php of your theme into a http://wordpress.pastebin.com/ and post the link to it here.

    someone might have a look into the file and might come up with a suggestion.

    The

    parse error

    occurs when I click on category and post links the Category Widget in left column.

    I removed the code that creates the
