# Simplified AdCode entry?

 * The site I am working on only uses simple banner ads. The user must upload the
image and enter the link to the client website.
Uploading the image is no problem,
but entering the url is, also they always forget to add the target=”_blank”.
The person who places the ads is not very technical and after trying to explain
how it works multiple times he just does not get it. Is there someway to simplify
the AdCode entry, preferably so the user just enters the URL ina field and the
adcode updates with the correct url and adds target=_blank automatically? I don’t
mind writing the code for this myself, but obviously it should be done so future
updates do not overwrite this, are there any hooks I can use for this?

 * Your advertiser can click the examples on the right of the adcode field to create
   ads.

 * Yes, I know. But all 3 examples are not what we need, so they need to alter them
afterwards and this is where it goes wrong.
It would be nice if I could add
a custom self-made example to that list. (Right now this is what I did by altering
your code, but that will be flushed with the next update of the plugin)

 * Or even simpler than this would be using the built-in tools to upload the image,
set a hyperlink, and have a checkbox (with a default setting) to open in a new
   window or assign nofollow.
 * AdRotate is simple to manage ads, but it’s not the easiest ad-managing plugin
when it comes to actually creating the ads.

 * Yes, using the built in thing would indeed be easier. But that also gives the
advertiser access to your sites assets which is a security risk.

 * What about allowing this for certain roles?
 * It doesn’t have to grant access to the full media management, just the ability
to upload and automatically link to an image.
 * For example, look at what PowerPress does. A simple “upload image” button for
podcast cover art. Using that button puts the image URL into the image field.
