Okay, got it. If you want a sidebar on the single player page, you simply need to add the code:
<?php get_sidebar( 'sidebar_name' ); ?>
to the single-player.php template. You can look at the code in the template of a page that has the sidebar you want to see what sidebar_name to use, if any.
