So I am able to order my archive / taxonomy page , but my post within that are not following the same order as the archive. How can I get my single post (previous and next) to follow the same sort order as the plugin?

Sorry for the delayed response, I was travelling with limited connectivity.

How can I get my single post (previous and next) to follow the same sort order as the plugin?

you need to see how the theme you are using is building its query. This plugin use query filters to change the order of posts returned from the DB. Some queries by default suppress filters, therefore your manual order is not applied.
