site customers help

I am new to wordpress and I am setting up a shop for my site. There are a few users that I set up with the customer status to preview how to track customers but no when I go to the customers tab on the dashboard, no customers show up. I set the settings to show anyone with customer role but am not seeing any customers or accounts show up even though I manually set them up.
