• Hi, I’ve noticed recently that some WPTouch functionality has stopped working. I don’t check this regularly so it may or may not be related to the most recent version of WordPress. I’m using 5.5.3. I’ve been using WPTouch for a number of years and know that the issues I’m reporting below definitely used to work.

    Issues are:

    1. The Site Menu button at the top left is unresponsive – nothing happens when I tap it
    2. The Search button in the top right is unresponsive – nothing happens when I tap it
    3. The “Load More Entries” link at the bottom of my blog roll is unresponsive – nothing happens when I tap it
    4. When I access a Post, it used to display the Featured Image in a faded background to the Post Title – now it just displays the block colour instead.

I’ve tried with PHP 7.3 and 7.4 but there is no difference. I also have no wptouch entries in my hosting error log.

I noticed that jquery_migrate was removed from WordPress 5.5 which stopped my desktop theme fom working, but whilst adding a plugin to enable it fixed my desktop theme, it did nothing for the WPTouch theme.

Interestingly, if I got into my WP Admin, Appearance > Themes, do a Live Preview of a Theme and then switch to the Mobile view, I see the site as the WPTouch interface and all the issues I reported above, work. The Menu slides out, the Search button drops a searchbox down underneath, Load More Entries responds when I tap it, and if I access a blog post then I see the Featured Image blended in behind the post title.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks.
