# SiteMap – Couldn’t Fetch

 * Hello,
 * In Google Console, I have entered my sitemap ending in “/wp-sitemap.xml”
 * However, Google’s error says it couldn’t fetch it. I did not generate a sitemap
   via any plugin such as Yoast, I simply added my website address prior to the /
   wp…. above.
 * I am assuming, that I **have to** create a sitemap using a plugin? Is that correct
   or should the above be functioning?

 * No, you don’t have to… unless something is blocking or has disabled the native
   XML sitemap.

 * I did, I used SEOPress, unfortunately the same error is persisting.

 * We have checked your xml sitemaps, everything looks good. Make sure you don’t
   have a security or something that can block the Google bot crawler.
