   I even deleted plugin I had and uploaded again.

 * Hi [@brotherbill](https://wordpress.org/support/users/brotherbill/)
 * Sorry to hear about this.
 * If the Page Builder tab is missing, that sounds like a plugin conflict. Please,
   deactivate all non-SiteOrigin plugins in one go, does the tab return? If it does,
   reactivate your plugins one by one, checking a page after each activation. Are
   you able to find the conflicting plugin, assuming that’s the problem?

 * Same problem. To find the guilty plugin I installed wp4.9 on a local machine
   and added each plugin that is installed on my production-site step by step after
   I installed SiteBuilder + Widget Bundle.
    No problem – SiteOrigin PageBuilder
   works. Curious…

 * Same problem here. With WP 4.9 Page Builder plugin enabled, the tab is missing
   in the editor. Once I disable the Page Builder plugin, the tab is back – but
   when I click on it, it displays the plugin-page from wordpress.org in a popup
   window.
 * Edit: Downgraded to 4.8.3 – pages are opened in the Page Builder editor again

 * Hi augschburger. 4.9 and Page Builder work on our side. Please, deactivate all
   other plugins in one go, does the issue resolve with only Page Builder activated?
   Let me know how that goes and we’ll take it from there.
 * [@kpwebdesign](https://wordpress.org/support/users/kpwebdesign/) any chance there
   is caching o your live site?

 * Hi augschburger,
 * The tab being added when SiteOrigin page Builder isn’t active is being added
   by the theme – it’s not technically the same tab, it’s purely a placeholder.
 * Can you, [@brotherbill](https://wordpress.org/support/users/brotherbill/) and
   [@kpwebdesign](https://wordpress.org/support/users/kpwebdesign/) please run a
   plugin conflict test? You can start by disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and
   see if this fixes the issue. You’ll need to [clear all your caches](https://codex.wordpress.org/I_Make_Changes_and_Nothing_Happens)
   after disabling your plugins. So just to confirm, double check if the issue is
   coming up while all other plugins are disabled.
 * If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until
   the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing
   the issue. Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing
   the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
 * You could also try temporarily switching to a default WordPress theme like Twenty
   Sixteen. Default WordPress themes are generally very light weight which lowers
   the chance that they’ll conflict with plugins, so they’re a good way to test
   if your original theme is the source of the issue.

 * Tried that first, but without any success. Downgrade to WP 4.8.3 solved my problems
   for now.

 * Okay, here’s the weird part. After trying different things yesterday and then
   finally posting my problem on the forum I decided to quit working for the day
   and set out first thing this morning to deactivate my plugins and reactivate
   them one at a time, as several advised.
 * I was about to do that this morning when I decided on a whim to look at one of
   my pages in the editor. I was amazed to see that PageBuilder was there and working.
   All I did since yesterday was to get out of WordPress and turn off my computer.
 * Thanks for help from everyone. I’m satisfied to leave it alone, but if anyone
   has an idea of what could cause this, I’d love to know.

 * Same here. Issue seems to be quite common folks.
 * Pagebuilder tab disappeared in WP editor after updating WP to 4.9.
    Page builder
   dead, editor contents not being parsed any more. Disabling all other plugins
   makes no differnce. Help, please.

 * To me this seems to be a conflict with the new editor features (ErrorChecking,
   Syntax Highlighting) in WP 4.9. ..

 * Hi everyone,
 * Based on brotherbill and another user (through our support). I suspect it’s possible
   this may be an issue [related to browser cache](http://www.refreshyourcache.com/en/home/).
   Can everyone please try clearing your browser cache to see if that helps?

 * Thanks alexgso, but no difference after clearing cache…
    Tested in Chrome and
   Firefox.

 * Please, also test with all plugins deactivated except Page Builder and a default
   theme like Twenty Sixteen, that would be the ultimate baseline.
 * If the issue persists, if you’re able to turn debug on in wp-config.php, that
   might reveal the issue:
    [https://codex.wordpress.org/WP_DEBUG](https://codex.wordpress.org/WP_DEBUG)
 * You can also check for console errors when editing a page:
    [https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Your_Browser_to_Diagnose_JavaScript_Errors](https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Your_Browser_to_Diagnose_JavaScript_Errors)

 * Thanks Andrew, I already had a look into console.
 * /wp-includes/js/mediaelement/mediaelement-and-player.min.js?ver=4.2.6-78496d1

   throws several errors and probably stops JS processing. Only in 4.9 – not in
   my identical second install with 4.8.3.
 * To me it’s a JS problem because the frontend just works fine…
    What do you think?

 * I’ve had two positive reports of issues being fixed by turning Page Builder caching
   off.
 * `Settings > Page Builder > Content > Content Cache`. Does that help anyone here
   still experiencing issues?
