I chose to overwrite the old free plugin. Everything seemed to work. The first test slides are being displayed. * I added my posts (which is why I bought it) to the slider. They did not have featured images so I added them. * Then chose Static Post, the category and then selected all 4 posts, complete with descriptions, url, title and image. * I inserted the shortcode [huge_it_slider id=”1″] on my page. The slider did only load the navigation arrows, nothing else. * Then I tried it with draft, published pages and pages versus posts. The slider just never loaded the content. * Then I went to remove the posts and used “add image” -> I added all the info and image manually. I wrote emails to your support address with my order number to get the upgrade for premium users. I reinstalled with the file you sent me – still the same problem * Thread Starter [sinna](https://wordpress.org/support/users/sinna/) * (@sinna) * [10 years, 5 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/slider-doesnt-load/#post-6727125) * For everyone interested: * The developer got admin access and found the problem: You can’t have shortcodes in any description of your slides, that will make the slider not load the content. * According to the developer that helped me, this is not a problem or an error, it’s just a feature that this slider doesn’t have. I guess however you see it, we as users could not know that shortcodes make the plugin not work. * So I hope this helps anyone with similar problems. * The developer might code something that converts the shortcodes in description to normal text, to prevent this non feature from applying, but I am not sure about that. * A thing that should get fixed is that the slider did not cut the descriptions to the entered length (300 as default). Instead, it used the whole posts as description. For me, this will be fixed soon. I deleted the slider in the mean time, as I found one that works. However I did reinstall it and it started working. I did exactly as I did the first time round.
