Slideshow not working + Controls don’t display

    Hi! The testimonials slideshow view we have on our home page stopped working properly—it doesn’t work when the page loads nor on refresh and the controls aren’t displaying. I can’t be sure it’s related, since I just noticed the problem, but I did recently update to WP 5.4.2. I tested and it doesn’t work even on a blank page.

    I’m using Genesis with the Mai Theme child theme. Here’s a screenshot of the view: https://snipboard.io/yiI2hP.jpg

    Hi @lisath,

    Thank you for reaching out!
    Can you please go to your dashboard > Testimonials > Compatibility > Compatibility Settings > Load Event > and check window load > save.
    Please let me know if this fixes it!

    Hi Lisa,

    I am so sorry for the late response – I missed your reply!
    Can you please install this plugin: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/health-check/ ?
    After you install and activate the above plugin it has a Troubleshooting mode which allows you to have a vanilla WordPress session, where all plugins are disabled, and a default theme is used, but only for your user – your visitors will still see the normal website.

    Go to its troubleshoot mode and only activate Strong Testimonials and see if the same issue happens with a default WordPress theme (Twenty Nineteen for example) and no other plugins.
    Please let me know how it goes!

    Hi Mihaela,

    Thanks so much for sticking with me. I installed the Site Health plugin and tried to enable only Strong Testimonials. I got this message:

    “When enabling the plugin, strong-testimonials, a site failure occurred. Because of this the change was automatically reverted.”

    Is that unusual? And where do I go from here?

    Hi Lisa,

    Could you please add this code in Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS:

    .strong-view.controls-style-buttons2 .wpmslider-start, .strong-view.controls-style-buttons2 .wpmslider-stop, .strong-view.controls-style-buttons2 .wpmslider-next, .strong-view.controls-style-buttons2 .wpmslider-prev {
	background: grey;
}
.strong-view.controls-style-buttons2 .wpmslider-start, .strong-view.controls-style-buttons2 .wpmslider-stop, .strong-view.controls-style-buttons2 .wpmslider-next:hover, .strong-view.controls-style-buttons2 .wpmslider-prev:hover {
	background: grey;
}

    This will solve the issue with the slider controls.
    If there are other issues please let me know!

    Checked it but I cannot see an error related to Strong testimonials unfortunately.
    Is it possible to send me a screenshot with your Plugins’ list so I can install them on my end and try to replicate the issue?

    Wow. Thanks so much for continuing to help me. I really appreciate it. I’m not sure you’ll be able to exactly duplicate the plugin environment. I’m using a theme that has a plugin: Mai Lifestyle theme by BizBudding.But the three screenshots of my plugins page are here.
