# Small Setup Doubt

 * I’m only using this for basic form emails. Do you recommend turning on email 
   logs from the start, or should I enable it only if I need to check something 
   later?

 * To answer your question, keeping an email log is generally a great practice, 
   especially if you ever need to troubleshoot lost messages. However, the [Email Log](https://wpmailsmtp.com/docs/how-to-set-up-email-logging/)
   feature is actually part of the paid WP Mail SMTP Pro version, so it is not available
   to toggle on in the free version you are currently using.
 * That being said, since you are just using it for basic form emails, you likely
   don’t need continuous logging from the start. Once you have successfully sent
   a test email from the **WP Mail SMTP -> Tools -> Email Test** tab, you can be
   confident your configuration is working properly.
