• i love and hate WP sometimes, like the fact it sends standard new registered users to the backend site, or it shows the admin bar by default to all logged in users.

    sure you can install heaps of plugins, but these are basic settings a CMS needs to do, in that regard joomla offers a much better out of the box experience.

    then here is the problem of plugin locations, that show up at random places, some devs install it to 2 admin bar, others to a submenu in the left adminmenu. often the plugins dont provide a handy “settings” link in de plugin overview.

    and do we need pages in the backend? wouldnt it be faster if we had preloaded tabbed content and standard frontend editing, instead of edit this link 2 backend can take easely a 5 seconds !?

    especially on hostingsites w. lower bandwith or memory, would i love to see faster usage by making WP as smart and compact out of the box.

    Agreed. Far too many are in “Settings” when they should in in “Tools” or wherever else.
