 * Have the WP devs ever considered using a patching system ala the one in Simple
   Machines Forum?
Built into the administrative interface is a page that looks to the SMF website
for information regarding patches. If one is available, then users can enter
their FTP information into the page and click “Apply Patch.” The forum is put
into maintenance mode while the patch is applied. I was just curious if such
a system had ever been considered for WP. I thought about it as I read through
the threads about diffing files from 1.2.1 to 1.2.2 and what’s user-friendly
   for non-tech people.
