 * Hi there, I have been attempting to use the plugin WP-Mail-SMTP to use smtp.gmail.
   com on our wordpress site. We switched to gmail for business (a google apps account)
   and immediately after we switched our domain’s MX records to google and got our
   email using google’s servers up and running we no longer were able to receive
   email from our website (same domain) that’s using wordpress. Ok, first I contacted
   my host (directnic.com) because when I tried to send a test the debugging I received
   showed an authentication error and showed my hosts’s servers (dnchosting.com)
   as opposed to google’s servers like I thought it should. I checked my website
   through cpanel and everything was aimed at google’s servers correctly but I contacted
   my host thinking maybe I had something wrong.
 * My host told me I had everything right and the reason their old servers were
   showing up in the debugging was because wordpress bounced on to them as a last
   resort when google’s server’s denied it. So my host told me to contact google
   directly. I spent an hour on the phone with a lovely google tech guy that sounded
   like he was from Ireland and he finally gave up and told me to contact you guys.
   Ok *sighs* please help me.
 * Every time I do a search on this issue I see everyone say that I need to “allow
   insecure apps” in our google account settings. The problem is I cannot enable
   this as we aren’t using a Google Account, we’re using a Google Apps account.
   Here is the full debugging output:
 * Test Message Sent
    The result was: bool(false) The full debugging output is shown

 * I recommend asking at [https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wp-mail-smtp#postform](https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wp-mail-smtp#postform)
   so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this.
 * Alternatively, try a different plugin, like [https://wordpress.org/plugins/postman-smtp/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/postman-smtp/)
