Socrates Upgrading

I am having trouble upgrading my version of Socrates. I keep getting a message reporting failure to install latest version, 2.1. I simply followed the links to the Socrates page, downloaded the zip file to a location I could access for uploading, and attempted to let WordPress upgrade the theme when I requested the upgrade. I have have now success. Is there another approach I can use to upgrade the theme?
