 * Hi,
 * I am getting into some serious problems regarding the soft 404 errors. I don’t
   know from where Google is indexing some arbitrary links which are leading into
   soft errors.

 * Google Webmaster is showing 400 such type of links.
    According to Google “The
   target URL doesn’t exist, but your server is not returning a 404 (file not found)
   error. Your server returns a code other than 404 or 410 for a non-existent page(
   or redirecting users to another page, such as the homepage, instead of returning
   a 404). This creates a poor experience for searchers and search engines.”
 * And yes these links are returning 200 status code which I think is the main reason.
 * Can you suggest me any idea to how not to make these pages get indexed or if
   I can pass a 404 status code for these links.
    I also tried adding <meta name
   =”robots” content=”noindex,follow,noodp,noydir”> but no luck found.
