# [Solved] WordPress Update : Installation failed

 * I went to update WordPress and got the message that the installation failed.
 * It’s rare that I get this message so I knew it had nothing to do with permissions.
   Just in case, I checked them, they were fine at 755.
 * At some point in the past I found out the issue was with respect to space on 
   the server, so I looked—starting in the root directory—for any file I could delete.
 * I deleted an 11meg error file.
 * The WordPress update worked.

   installed.
