 * My site has recently started randomly deactivating 11 of my 23 plugins without
   the message warning about being deactivated due to an erro, and without records
   of errors in either the apache server log or the WordPress error log. It happens
   anywhere from every 15 minutes to every few hours. I’m not exactly sure when
   it started, but it was within the last two weeks. Here are two list of the plugins
   I have running, the first always remain active, the second is the set that is
   always deactivated:
 * Ajax Search Lite
    Akismet Disable All WordPress Updates Event Organiser Follow
   Google Analytics by MonsterInsights Plugin Organizer Shortcodes Ultimate Simple
   Share Buttons Adder The Events Calendar Yoast SEO WP Super Cache
 * Advanced Custom Fields
    cforms Constant Contact Plugin for WordPress GEO my WP
   Popups – WordPress Popup Relevanssi SI CAPTCHA Anti-Spam Store Locator Plus Store
   Locator Plus :: Pro Pack WP Document Revisions WP Publication Archive
 * Any help appreciated, I’m at a loss of what to try next.

 * Do you have access to the server logs?
 * I am very tentatively thinking it is an execution timeout, or file read error
   related to an overworked server. Unless you have been hacked and something is
   screwing with the site, I can’t think of any good reasons (including the ones
   I offered) that plugins would ‘pop’ in and and out like that.

 * Thanks for replying, Davood.
 * The server logs don’t have any timeouts or file read errors.
 * I also thought perhaps the site had been hacked, since I’ve never seen anything
   like this in 20+ WordPress installs, but creating code to deactivate a certain
   number of plugins from a site seems a strange thing for someone to code. And
   I’ve search all the directories and nothing seems to be there that shouldn’t
   be.

 * Yes, I would definitely agree with that about the code to deactivate plugins…
   however, is it always 11 plugins that have been disabled?
 * I ask because it is possible that the code that was injected into your site was
   set up to deactivate and reactivate until half of your plugins (or close to half
   of them) were disabled 11/23 is close to half.
 * That’s said, you may want to run some malware scans on the site and server. Even
   though everything looks copacetic the hacker (if the site is hacked) could have
   inject code into a file that was already on the server rather than adding a new
   file to the server.
 * Hope this helps. Keep us posted, we are happy to help.

 * That seems like a stretch, though, right? It is the same 11 plugins every time,
   and always at the exact same time. And they aren’t in any apparent pattern (not
   alphabetical or anything).
 * I talked with someone at the hosting company, and they said everything looks
   good on their end.
 * I’m still pouring through everything, and I will keep you posted if I figure
   out what’s going on.

 * I admit, it could be a stretch! That said, the hacker may have a bad randomizer.
   Could you tell us which 11 plugins are being disabled every time?

 * The list of the 11 plugins being deactivated is in my first post.
 * So, it’s taken a while to get through everything since I have to wait sometimes
   quite a while to see if it’s had any effect, but I’ve narrowed it down to an
   issue with Store Locator Plus and/or Store Locator Plus :: Pro Pack. I had them
   deactivated for around 24 hours with no other plugins randomly deactivating.
   I’ve reinstalled both and am waiting to see if that fixed the issue.

 * [@zbrustudios](https://wordpress.org/support/users/zbrustudios/) my bad! I saw
   the list you provided in your initial post. however, i missed this part “Here
   are two list of the plugins I have running, the first always remain active, the
   second is the set that is always deactivated…” when skimming through it again
   before submitting my last reply.
 * Glad that you have narrowed things down. My suggestion, based on the two plugins
   you narrowed it down to would be to reach out to the support team. for the pro
   version of Store Locator Plus… I have worked with them before and they are very
   nice!

 * I’ve been having a similar issue…
 * I’ve had several instances lately where nearly all of the plugins on my site
   deactivate randomly. This includes plugins like WP eStore and WP Affiliate, Popup
   Domination, Extra Shortcodes for WP eStore, and about 20 or so more. This has
   happened 3-4 times now, in the past 3 weeks (roughly).
 * When it happens, I have to go into WordPress and re-activate all these plugins.
   During the time they are deactivated people can’t purchase from our site because
   our cart plugin (WP eStore) is one of the plugins that gets deactivated.
 * Do you have any ideas?
 * Thanks!
