• There’s something really slow about the initial homepage load of my website, and I don’t know how to fix it. I’ve been facing this issue for a long time now. It takes around 6 seconds just to load an image. I’m not very technical, so I’m not sure what’s causing it. I’d really appreciate it if you could help me out.

The pre-loader on the website is too long and makes the site feel even slower. Maybe something theme-related?

  • Hi @souravjj4,

    Thank you for reaching out!

I have just tested your homepage on Google Pagespeed Insights and one of the suggestions is to resize the images that you are using on the page. I can also recommend installing the WebP Express plugin to help improve how images are served on the page. For more details, I’d recommend taking a look at this guide.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if this helps to resolve the issue.

Thanks for the suggestion! My homepage images are already in WebP format, and I’d rather not add a plugin because I don’t think it would make much of a difference (at least that’s what I believe). Plus, I’m already using quite a few plugins. I suspect the issue might be related to the theme or something connected to it.

    Hi @souravjj4

Thank you for getting back to me.

Could you please confirm if you have already tried to resize the images on the page? I also noted that your server responded slowly (observed 2415 ms) in the page speed test. If it is an option, I can recommend upgrading to a dedicated or managed server. As you said, the number of plugins installed is also a factor and I can recommend reducing the number of active plugins to improve the page speed further.

    I hope this helps!
