# Sort Posts by Date Option

 * Is there a way to sort posts by date (ascending/descending) in the widget settings?

 * No, the plugin -as of now- can only sort posts by either views or comments count.
   Sorting by date wouldn’t make a lot of sense for this plugin IMO as that’s not
   a popularity factor.
 * If you need a widget that does most of the stuff WPP can do then you may want
   to give [Recently](https://wordpress.org/plugins/recently/) a try (and make sure
   to check out its [filter hooks](https://github.com/cabrerahector/recently/wiki/1.-Filter-Hooks)
   so you can change the sorting option to whatever you need.)
