Sorting query

I am using this shortcode to create a list of records:

[pdb_list sort=true fields="first_name,city,country,start_date,number_of_days"]

It works perfectly, and shows me the list neatly arrayed in five columns. However when I go to sort the records from the sort menu, I am taken to a different template for the results, (similar to an earlier draft), just one record is returned, and the columns are reduced to 3.

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?
