Title: Source Code Shows Cache isn't Working Last modified: August 20, 2016 --- # Source Code Shows Cache isn't Working * [melissaaggie98@gmail.com](https://wordpress.org/support/users/melissaaggie98gmailcom/) * (@melissaaggie98gmailcom) * [15 years ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/source-code-shows-cache-isnt-working/) * Hello, * I can’t for the life of me figure out why, in my source pages, I keep getting the following: * * * * When I perform the cache tester, I see: * Fetching [http://www.mommylivingthelifeofriley.com/](http://www.mommylivingthelifeofriley.com/) to prime cache: OK * Fetching first copy of [http://www.mommylivingthelifeofriley.com/](http://www.mommylivingthelifeofriley.com/): OK (1.html) * Fetching second copy of [http://www.mommylivingthelifeofriley.com/](http://www.mommylivingthelifeofriley.com/): OK (2.html) * Page 1: 2011-05-25 18:43:15 * Page 2: 2011-05-25 18:43:15 * and when I check the cache content, I see the following: * Cache Contents * WP-Cache (0KB) * 0 Cached Pages 0 Expired Pages WP-Super-Cache (291.13KB) * 4 Cached Pages 0 Expired Pages * So can anyone explain why all of my pages, even the ones which are showing that they are cached are displaying the in the source code? * I read some previous posts which mentioned making sure that my theme had an appropriate closing tag and I checked that and even added an additional one just to be sure and that hasn’t helped. I also turned the caching plugin on and off again to clear everything and start over, but that hasn’t helped either. (Recommended) * So, if you’re logged in, you’ll see the message you indicated. I thought that might have been it too, but I logged out and tested it and I still see the following in my source code in both Firefox and Chrome: * * * I enabled the debug and this is what I get: * 23:54:07 /wp-content/cache/bbe7b54bd71929f7e6da4f34fe788ea9.txt wp_cache_shutdown_callback: collecting meta data. 23:55:57 / wp_cache_shutdown_callback: collecting meta data. 00:04:49 / wp_cache_shutdown_callback: collecting meta data. * I’ve also checked my Supercache folder and it’s full of files and folders now… over 50. I just don’t get why the source code for me is appearing as if these pages aren’t caching when you were able to see the correct source code. Any other ideas as to what I can try? (Recommended) option and now the source code is showing correctly. I guess for some reason, logging out just wasn’t enough.
