I love this plugin but find one thing we need is missing. Not sure if its a hard feature to add but…. you currently turn spaces into dashes (or WP does this). Is there a way you can give us a box for items we wish to ALSO be converted to a dash?

We seem to get a lot of images with underscores in them, and right now the only thing your plugin allows me to do is add the _ to the removal list, turning my_image.png into myimage.png

I’d love to be able to turn it into my-image.png

    Just a wishful desire.

    Hello @grungyape,
I’ve updated the plugin to version 2.1.5 adding a new option (Convert characters to dash)

Can you please check it out?

This worked perfectly, thank you! I’m marking this closed.

A few comments to help prevent support issues.

    A wording change:
“Besides whitespaces, convert the following characters to a dash. (Space separated)”

Also, if you have not, you will need a way to make sure that a character entered into the “convert” box above is not then removed by the “remove” section below.

You can handle this in a few ways (obviously your preference) but the easiest is to remove the “All non ASCII characters” option and just leave a text box with the default remove items listed:
    ? + [ ] / \ = < > : ; , ' " & $ # * ( ) | ~ ! { } ¨ % @ ^`

Then include a note that says “Do not include characters in the remove box that are also in the replace option above”.

A more complex way is to actually check the characters in each box, and then to give priority to the “convert” box if you see a duplicate.

    Again, thank you!

Thank you, I’ll change that sentence.

But actually I think you don’t need to worry about the remove section. The characters will be replaced first and then it will be removed and not the opposite.

If you don’t mind to give me a good review I would really appreciate it
    🙂
