Hi dontlikecheese Spam is something that no one wants 🙂 and it is tricky to fully block all spam.
There are other plugins that you can install like a security plugin to block IP address from all those spammers. I use the following plugin All In One WP Security.
That really helps me a lot 🙂

Hi, thank you for your reply and suggestion. Each message appears to come from a different IP and essentially contains wierd bits of (looks like copy and pasted)nonsense text.
So its not like its one culprit. Not sure what the benefit would be to the spammer either. From nothing, we now get about 30 of these a day.
Is this really the best solution, or is there something else we need to look at?
Hi, you can probably add different methods to prevent spam. But spam will always come no matter what you do. My system above works for me even though I still get some spam but very little. I have already blocked many IP addresses and a few IP address range. You can even block countries if you want. It is up to you how far you want to go to block as much spam as you can.
