# Problem with span formatting after updating WP

 * We used to be able to use <span style=”color: #339966;”>blabla</span>
 * There was nothing wrong with that…it worked. Now after upgrade its can’t be done.
 * **My thoughts;** Everytime there is an upgrade ‘something in WordPress ‘ you 
   KNOW always worked before now does’nt.

   a new thread :).
 * On your question – can you provide some additional information – i.e. what theme,
   where are you adding this code, are you sure you don’t have any errors, a link
   to your site would also be helpful.

 * I am on Admired theme. The <span></span> attribute works in a post, just not 
   in the sidebar where its always worked.
 * Even copy/paste still does’nt.

 * Looking at your site, it looks like you have a syntax error in the CSS code:
 *     ```
       <span style="color": #ff0000;">
       ```
   
 * (no closing quote on “color”)

 * I can sort the </span> in the CSS although thats not been touched by me, its 
   come along with the theme.
 * The other at W3C which I don’t usually ask to check (will in future) will take
   me some days, maybe weeks to rectify..
