# Special Recent Posts: Post Offset

 * Brilliant plugin, but I have one problem with using ‘Post Offset’. This term 
   appears to do two different things, depending on whether you’re looking at the
   WP ‘Settings’ panel or the ‘Widget’:
 * 1.) In the settings panel it allows you to tick a box which the instructions 
   say will tell SRP not to display a post in the SRP output if it is on a single
   post page outputting that post. This doesn’t work, as both appear on single pages.
 * 2.) In the widget, ‘Post Offset’ stands for ‘ignore the following number of most
   recent posts’, which is useful on the home blog page and does work.
 * I am using the cleanRoar template if it helps. I would like to get the first 
   option working if there is a fix.
 * Thanks for any advice.

 * Are you still using this plugin? I will post a support, but thought I’d see if
   anyone has asked the same question yet. Your question is different than mine,
   but your longer experience with this plugin, if you’re still using it, might 
   allow you to help me.
 * I’d like this plugin to work on my blog home page, but I’ve tried everything.
   The blog home page, which is the recent posts page, will not show the posts as
   I’d like. I put the code in the page/col-2 area of the index.php and makes no
   change, but depending on what current code I delete or where I place the code
   in that section, various things happen – never to that page, though. The results
   that changes is when I click on a category link in col-1. Maybe it’s come coding
   in that plugin that makes it not work, but it is a puzzle.

   As I’m submitting this, the code is currently not placed on the page, though 
   I may be fooling around with it again.
 * I’m trying to get only 2 or 3 posts to show up on that page with a good deal 
   of the post after the title. This is the way I always see it.

 * I never got any further with this plugin.
 * But if I’m reading you correctly, you want to show two/three posts on your main
   blog page with a large portion of the post below each title. If that’s the case,
   don’t bother with the plugin and simply use WordPress, as follows:
 * 1. From WP admin go to ‘Settings > Reading’. Change the ‘Blog pages show at most’
   X posts to the desired number of posts, 2 or 3.
 * 2. When writing posts, use the ‘more’ tag at the point where you want to end ‘
   home’ blog page content.

 * Thanks for trying, but it didn’t work. I would like the thumbnails if I can get
   them. I think it must be something in the code of the left side categories plugin
   that’s messing it up, but I have no idea how to fix it. I like that plug in and
   did some work to make it function properly. Of course, I guess it’s not functioning
   properly if the page settings don’t work. 🙂
