# Specific permalink issue with MT conversion

 * I’m converting a Movable Type blog to WordPress, and am having a specific issue
   with the permalink date format. I’ve searched the docs and posts, but haven’t
   seen this specific issue.
 * One of the MT date options allows you to use the month abbrevation (Jan, Feb,
   Mar) rather than the monthnum (01, 02, 03). Unfortunately, this is what I used,
   and now I have more than 1,000 posts using this date format. The Options > Permalinks
   > Custom panel only seems to allow %monthnum% and although I’ve seen references
   to “month” and “month_abbrev” variables, they don’t seem to work. Is there any
   way to use the month abbreviation format in the permalinks path?
