# SQL Importer

 * Well, unless someone here can tell me that it’s already been done, I am going
   to have to build a SQL importer for MT->WP.
    My old host has the server set to
   kill the CGI process after a few seconds. So, when I try to export my almost 
   1,000 MT entries, the server kills it before it can get to all the entries. However,
   I can get a full SQL dump of the MT database. So, starting with the current MT
   importer, I am setting off to write an importer to pull in a MT SQL dump and 
   push it all into the WP database. Wish me luck! Any suggestions?

 * Hate to doublepost, but it bears the bump. This has already been done by Fahim
   of [http://www.farook.org](http://www.farook.org) . Here’s his thread with links
   to the script and such. The only thing I noticed is that it does not create title
   slugs, so comments links don’t work that well if you are using friendly URLs.
   I may try to fix that and see what he thinks. Gotta sleep for now.

 * Even if it doesn’t create it you can run upgrade.php afterward and it’ll fix 
   things up.
