 * Before fully implementing the plugin’s functionality on my website, I have a
question regarding its image storage behavior. Specifically, I would like to
understand how the plugin handles image storage after optimization.
 * When an image is uploaded and processed by the EWWW Image Optimizer plugin, does
the plugin retain both the original image and the optimized version in the WordPress
uploads directory? Or is there an option to store only the optimized version
while eliminating the need to keep the original image?
 * As storage space and organization are crucial factors for my website, knowing
the plugin’s image storage approach will help me make informed decisions about
   its implementation.
 * I would appreciate it if you could kindly clarify this matter for me. Thank you
   for your time and assistance.

 * Hi mariodts,
 * You have the option to save a local backup of your image when it is optimized,
or, if you have our premium service, you can store the original on our servers
for 30days. Alternatively, you can turn that functionality off and nothing will
be retained. When an image is uploaded, the actual image is optimized so there
won’t be any other version of it stored. I should say, there is an exception
to that if WordPress scales down the image (if it’s over 2560px). If that is
the case, there is an option to delete those originals.
 * The option to save an original is on Local tab in the plugin settings. If you
can’t see that tab, you will need to enable Ludicrous mode in the top left of
   the basic tab. [https://docs.ewww.io/article/102-local-compression-options](https://docs.ewww.io/article/102-local-compression-options)
