Title: Strange Text/Symbol Errors Last modified: August 18, 2016 --- # Strange Text/Symbol Errors * [tonywright](https://wordpress.org/support/users/tonywright/) * (@tonywright) * [20 years, 6 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/strange-textsymbol-errors/) * I’ve noticed that throughout the many hundreds of posts on my site [http://www.rapnews.co.uk](http://www.rapnews.co.uk) the text of some posts have a few errors. * It seems that when certain punctuation marks are used such as ‘ or “, an empty square has been displayed instead. * This hasn’t been the case at the moment of publishing and has only started happening lately, whilst I’ve been revisiting older content. * Any ideas? * Many thanks everyone. What are you using to write your posts? I recommend that you copy whatever you wish to post into a plain text editor first. Use that to sanitize the document or convert it to UTF-8 and then copy the result and paste it into the WP admin interface.
