 * Hi.
 * Want to use your plugin with a new site that I´m building. We had an old family
   site with a lot of registred members, and I want to import them and use the same
   fields as before for registration. How could I set up that, so that they are
   possible to import? There were som custom fields with meta values (family bransch/
   genealogy etc) before that I want to continue to use.
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fstruktur-data%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)

 * Hello [@peter0013](https://wordpress.org/support/users/peter0013/)
 * Every field has the “Meta Key” setting used to connect the field with the database
   data. Just used the same metakeys in UM custom fields as metakeys in custom fields
   on your old site. See this doc: [How to add fields to a form](https://docs.ultimatemember.com/article/188-how-to-add-fields-to-a-form)
 * Maybe you don’t need to import data. Start your new site as a copy of the existing
   site, install Ultimate Member, add needed custom fields to the registration and
   profile forms.
 * If you wish to start your new site as a new WordPress installation with an empty
   database you should export users from your old website and import them to your
   new website. There are two ways to do this:
    1. Export/import database tables `wp_users` and `wp_usermeta`. This method requires
       more knowledge and caution, but allows you to transfer all user data.
    2. Use third-party party plugins for exporting/importing users. This method is
       simpler, but may not transfer complex data correctly. See this doc: [Export & Import](https://docs.ultimatemember.com/article/1549-export-import)
