Hi! My gallery linked to Google photos frequently gets stuck on loading. I looked into it and saw information about caching so I disabled my cache plugin and requested that Cloudflare ignore this particular page but I’m still seeing the issue. Any guesses?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

It seems to be working fine for me. I tried this out on 3 different browsers.

It’s not consistent that I can tell. Right now I’m stuck on mobile and I’m getting it in one browser but not the other. Except one time where I did get it in the other, but when I left and came back it loaded. I have a colleague experiencing the problem who’s on a desktop. And I have a congregant who is also experiencing the problem. So it’s happening across multiple devices, browsers, etc.

What you are seeing is 100% a caching issue. When I loaded your page using Incognito on Chrome, I started seeing that all your photos are returning a 403 error – this happens when you are trying to get an expired Google Photos link. Considering that you are talking of Cloudflare, my guess is that that is where you are getting the issue from.

If you are unable to resolve the cache on your side, you can load the gallery using the load_mode='js' option per shortcode (or globally via Photonic → Settings → Generic Options → Advanced → Loading Mode → JavaScript). That will delegate the loading of the page to the browser and will not be impacted by caching.

Fantastic. I’ll take a look at that when I can get back to a desktop. I was pretty sure it was Cloudflare but mystified why I can’t get it to ignore the page. Thanks again!

That seems to have done the trick. Thanks again!
