 * I used to have a “style.css” under twentytwelve-child\ but today I discovered
   that the functions I have there didn’t work any more.
 * I opened Customising | Additional CSS and pasted my old contents into the edit
   window and saved and bingo it worked!
 * Was this correct? Can I now remove my old twentytwelve-child\style.css that didnt’
   seem to have been updated (date)? Where is my new CSS residing?
 * Where is this described?
 * I have commented this in [http://www.teigfam.net/oyvind/home/technology/061-wordpress/#additional_css](http://www.teigfam.net/oyvind/home/technology/061-wordpress/#additional_css)

 * Your Child Theme isn’t active any more on your site – Can you try reactivating
   it through the Themes page in the dashboard?

 * Thanks, Andrew. I reactivated and it also works.
 * But before I reactivated it I tested on a Chrome with all data removed. And it
   _also_ worked.
 * Now my “Additional CSS” window is again empty.
 * Ok, so this is how it’s done? I do think I must have done this some time earlier–
   or is the reactivation something new? Why isn’t a child automatically reactivated?
   Or at least a query: “You have a child theme to Twenty Twelve, would you like
   to reactivate it?” I must admit I don’t like having to remember this.

 * I’m not sure why your Child Theme was deactivated, but it could have been when
   WordPress itself updated. When WordPress updates, all of the code in the default
   themes (Twenty Ten, Eleven, Twelve, Thirteen, etc.) are overwritten and so it
   is possible that this action caused your Child Theme to become inactive.
 * If your Child Theme keeps becoming inactive and causes you a maintenance problem,
   or is just annoying you then I recommend using the “Additional CSS” section.
   Both do the same thing.
