 * Hover over “Tools” and you will see that this particular sub-menu only has one
   column, however, the flyout menu is the full width of the nav menu. I want to
   know how to make this particular menu item only as wide as 1-column and to appear
   under the Parent menu item (Tools) when you hover over it.
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fsub-menu-width-issuee%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)

 * Hi Daniel,
 * Thanks for posting a link. For “1 column” sub menus, you’d usually use the Flyout
   sub menu type. That will be narrower and you can configure the width separately
   from your mega menus.
 * To adjust the widget of an individual mega menu, you’d either need to use custom
   CSS (not something we cover through free support, but as a tip you would need
   to include the parent menu item ID in your CSS selector to ensure your css only
   applies to that one sub menu), or use the Custom Item Styling functionality in
   Pro which will do the hard work for you. We have some documentation on that here:

 * When I set the custom CSS for #mega-menu-wrap-primary #mega-menu-primary[data-
   effect=”fade”] li.mega-menu-item > ul.mega-sub-menu
 * It works! However, the menu item is floated left, even though I didn’t set that.
   How do I get it to appear just under the correct Parent? Check it out:

 * Also, where are the arrows that should be appearing above the sub-menus and below
   the Parent, symbolizing that the sub-menu belongs to each particular parent?

 * Hi Daniel,
 * You would need to use custom CSS to adjust the position of the sub menu (as a
   tip you would need to include the parent menu item ID in your CSS selector to
   ensure your css only applies to that one sub menu), this is something you would
   need to ask a freelancer to help you with if you are not sure how.
 * For arrows above sub menus please check this thread:
