 * Hi,
    the number of items in the category is calculated by WordPress itself. In
   other words i do not count the number of items inside the category, WordPress
   does it for me.
 * The number of items shown is the number of items assigned to this category, not
   subcategories also if the item is assigned to a category and sub-category then
   this will increase the count in each by 1.
