 * Hi Johnny,
 * That’s really strange. You shouldn’t have an event submission button without 
   installing Community Events. At any rate, you should be able to hide it with 
   some CSS, by choosing the CSS selector and following the format below:
 * .”selector-name” {display: none;}

 * Hiding the button works when you first visit the page, but once you click on 
   the next month on the calendar the button reappears.
