Not sure what we might have done. I’ve been using the plugin for years now with great success and zero issues. Then today I noticed, while previewing a new post, that one of the entries generated by the plugin doesn’t use a 150×150 thumbnail that I have the plugin set to use.

We’re the movie review site you’ve looked at before and use several widgets (for directors, writers, actors, keywords) and it just works well. The example URL shows the 2013 review from a Bruce Willis film and on the right sidebar scroll down to “OTHER FILMS BY THE LEAD ACTORS” and you’ll see his latest film, Death Wish, is using the Featured Image at full size. We’ve never had this issue before, but now we’re afraid it’s going to keep happening.

Can you shed any light on where we should look? We have not changed the site in any way other than plugins updating so perhaps one of our graphic plugins goofed? I assumed your plugin would make sure the thumbnail got created.

I also verified that a 150×150 thumbnail does exist for the Feature Image so I’m really confused as to why it didn’t get used.

A correction or two to this:

All my thumbs were actually set to 100×100 (Inspected). I typed 150×150 above as when I checked the widget settings RPT was set to 150×150. Huh? That was confusing. I looked in the widget and there was no option for 100×100 so I have no idea how they got to that size. I then just unselected 150×150 and then reselected it and saved and it worked just fine fixing my issue.

Did the widget used to support 100×100? There’s an “Admin Thumbnail” of 100×100, but I’m not at all clear on what that distinction means. Why Admin?

    Thanks.

    Hi Agrajag27,

The image sizes are set by

If an image (with the size 150*150) isn’t found by WordPress it falls back to the thumbnail size. What size do you have for ‘Thumbnail size’ in wp-admin > settings -> Media.

But as you said it ferified it existed.

I will look into this and see if I can find a reason why it was using the wrong image size.

In wp-admin > Settings > Media my thumbs are set to 150×150.

Not sure what the theme calls for.

As noted, in the Uploads I saw the file that was 150×150.

Still confusing why JUST that one picture somehow didn’t follow the path of every other one before it. Even more confused now as to why every thumb was 100×100 when nothing appears to have been set that way. Something odd happened for sure so I suspect there’s a bug somewhere, but wish I knew more to help. I didn’t even want to attempt to fix it so that we could troubleshoot it, but tripped over the “fix”.

I have a vague recollection of, years back when we first started using the plugin, that I tried different thumb sizes and may have ended on 100×100, but I have no idea how I could have done that if your interface wasn’t allowing for that size option.
