# Summary/Excerpt

 * I can’t get the index/home/landing to show only a summary/excerpt of posts.
 * I have selected “Show Summary” instead of “Full Text” in the reading options 
   but this doesn’t seem to help. I’ve tried about every solution I could find and
   none of them worked so this is my last resort.

 * The “Show Summary” setting in “Settings > Reading” does not control whether summaries
   are shown on the blog itself, but whether summaries should be displayed in the
   RSS feed of the site.
 * To change to summaries for all posts on the site itself, you’d either have to
   insert a Read more tag in every single post or edit the PHP files of the theme.
