# Switching Permalink Structure – SE Effects?

 * I am switching to a permalink structure after a long time without one. Will this
   affect my search engine rankings/listings adversely? Will it help me in the search
   engines? What about PR, any effect there?

    Permalink structure is one of wordpress best features.
 * About your PR, forget it. You will get back and it will be better more than ever.
 * There will be a PR update soon. If you want to go for the permalinks, just it
   now. There is no harm but all benefits with the permalinks.

 * If I want to post a thumbnail, I am just inserting it in a new line. Now how 
   do I post a thumbnail in the left or right of the content?

 * I like to use Thomas Montague’s LMB-Box FilePress. What’s neat about it is that
   you can style it however you wish as he’s wrapped the code in a classes alignleft,
   alignright and aligncenter. And it’s not restricted to images; you can upload
   other kinds of files as well (e.g., zip, pdf, doc, wpd, etc.) — just be sure 
   you specify those file extensions in Options (Miscellaneous).
