Hey @davidfranom,
Thanks for the question! There used to be an option in the Facebook frontend that would allow you to choose how your customers interacted with your products. The option here was to take the customer to the cart with the product added already, or to take them to the product page instead!
Unfortuantely, with the latest redesign of the Facebook pages, this option no longer exists. That said, we have added a custom snippe that can be used to replace the current URL’s with the product URL instead. If you’d like to give this a go, you can take a look at our frequently asked questions documentation page.
Please note that you will need to initiate another full sync for the data to be updated. Could you let me know if this would work for what you had in mind?
Cheers!
Simon.
The thing is that now the link redirects me to the product with variation.

And I would like it to redirects to the main procuct with no variations.

As you can see in images, in the first one the Add to cart button is enabeled and in the second one it is not. I want the secon one.
Cheers!

Hey @davidfranom,
Ah, thanks for letting me know. It sounds like you may need some additional changes to the example snippet to replace the URL with the parent product URL instead.
I’ve whipped up a quick example for what looks to be working in my tests: https://gist.github.com/simonporter007/17ded2f07480e361606dd76ba52dc472
If you need further assistance modifying this for your specific store needs, I would be happy to recommend some developer resources experiences in WooCommerce. Though I hope this is a good example for them to work off!
Could you let me know if there is anything else I can help with today?
Cheers,
Simon.
Hi, Simon.
Just tryed with it, it worked well for facebook store, but it didn’t for instagram shopping. Is there anything that i can do?
Thanks for the support.
Hey @davidfranom,
That’s good to hear, thanks for letting me know! I’m afraid we can only control the data passed to the Facebook catalog, rather than anything platform-specific. There’s certainly no field for instagram_checkout or something similar, so I’m not sure what field they would be using if checkout_url isn’t working.
I’ve checked their documentation and don’t see anything else that seems relevent: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/marketing-api/reference/product-item/
If you reach out to Facebook and find out, could you please let me know?
Cheers!
Simon.
Hey @davidfranom,
It has been a while since we heard from you, so I’m going to mark this topic as resolved. If you’re still experiencing issues please take a look at our documentation for more information and create a new thread if you have further questions.
Thanks,
Simon.
