 * I work for a community radio station. We’ve recently had our website redeveloped,
and swapped out our old, subscription chat forum for SAC. However, we seem to
be having teething problems, in that messages posted from our studio frequently
do not appear in the SAC chat forum.
We’re using the latest version of WordPress,
and accessing the forum using the latest version of Chrome for Windows 10, currently
139.0.7258.155, with no modifications to the settings, and no extensions. Can
you help? Also, we need to be able to delete individual messages and track IP
addresses in cases of spam. Is this function available on the free version?

 * Glad to help. For the messages not appearing, it could be related to another
plugin, maybe like a cache plugin or similar. Do you know if the site is using
   any sort of caching?
 * The free version of the plugin does enable admins to delete and edit chat messages,
but there is no IP-address information available. The pro version provides much
more robust chat-message management tools, including everything the free version
can do plus blocking/muting, and includes user details like IP address and more.

 * Many thanks for getting back to me so quickly. We used an external developer
for the site, so I’ll have to check with him.
   With apologies for the supplementary
question, how do we designate admin roles? I’ve now installed the plugin on WordPress
running on my internal server so I can take a look at the settings.

 * To keep the plugin lightweight and as compatible with WordPress as possible,
it simply uses the WP core user/registration system. So users will have whichever
   role/capabilities are assigned during registration.

 * Aha – thanks very much for the clarification.
