I’m using the News Child theme, and I’m not sure what I did, but I did something wrong and now getting a message that says:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /home/musingsf/public_html/www.dellbillings.com/wp-content/themes/news/functions.php on line 146

I cannot log back into the account to try to fix the mistake and the website is down as well. Any ideas on what I can do?

  • Download a fresh copy of the theme, extract the functions.php file and upload it up to your wp-content/themes/news-child folder using FTP (or whatever file management application your host provides).

THANK YOU for your help. Got it back up and running.

And didn’t mean to double post. Didn’t realize I did it until after I started getting notifications from two places. Dumb move of the morning for me.

Is there a way to delete a post here?

Thanks so much for this help from both posts! Greiz response really helped me figure this out. I am not techie at all – i shouldn’t even have been messing with the code.
