• I was trying to erase the built in home page because I am using a custom WordPress theme and I deleted the wrong line of code because now I am receiving this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /home/reviz/public_html/test/wp-content/themes/Endea/functions.php on line 68

I tried to go back and copy and paste the original code from the file back in and update it but the error keeps coming up. Any suggestions?

  • Using ftp or by logging into your hosted account and using the file manager, rename Endea. That will force wp to open with the default theme so it will be easier to work on.

I currently do not have access to the hosted account. What are my options?

    I don’t understand.

    You had access for this.

    Not even with ftp?

Clear your cache. Ctrl F5 and see if that helps. But not having access is like trying to cook lunch in the bedroom. You need to go to the kitchen. :^)

Well I have access through WordPress but I am only able to go back to the “Edit Themes” page I was on before but anything I try to do just returns me to the same error. I can’t click on other menus on my dashboard and when I paste in the original functions.php it just returns me to the error. So therefore I must not be able to do anything from the WordPress dashboard but I don’t have access to the actual hosting.
