Simple table, shows up on Preview but does not show up on actual post. Deactivated plugin, removed shortcode, everything else from Editor and Preview shows up on post . Reactivate plugin, reinsert table, same problem.

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

My assumption is that your theme or another plugin is also registering a TablePress Shortcode. You might therefore want to try changing the TablePress Shortcode, e.g. to tp_table. For that, please try the TablePress Extension from https://tablepress.org/extensions/table-shortcode/

    Regards,
    Tobias

Thank you for your prompt attention. Changed shortcode to my grandma’s name (no chance of conflict :)) – no dice. The theme I’m using is Nisarg – the problem appears to be in the theme, which otherwise works very well for my needs and am using successfully in another site. Changed theme to Twenty Seventeen, Sixteen etc. and the table DOES show up. On the other hand, those themes don’t quite work for me.
    Anything else I could try?

    Hi,

    that would be really strange…
Can you please post a link to the page with the table where this problem happens, so that I can take a direct look? Thanks!

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Thanks again for prompt reply.

    1) The Edit page with shortcode

2)The Preview Page. Note the Table shows up.

    3) The post page on the site. Text shows up but no table.

    Hi,

as I’m not logged-in on your site, only the third link works for me.
From what I can see from that, I can only assume that your theme does not evaluate Shortcodes, for some reason.
I can therefore only suggest that you contact the theme developers about this.

    Regards,
    Tobias

Could you dummy up a Nisarg theme page and try? Or if you send me your email address to [email protected] I’ll send you my WP password (don’t worry, I’ll change it later). I’m that desperate! Also, donation definitely forthcoming :).

    Hi,

sorry, I don’t have the time to set up a dummy site, but I could have direct look, yes.
    I’ll send you an email.

This gets more bizarre! Remember I told you about my other site using Nisarg theme, WP Rev. 4.7.2 (same as the new site.) Well, I used TablePress to create a table on that site, and IT WORKS PERFECTLY! So please do send me your email. There’s probably some operator error here, but I’ll be dashed if I can figure it out. Thanks for taking so much trouble.

    Hi,

    yes, that’s strange.
I sent you an email about an hour ago. Did you receive it?

Thank you, Tobias. Received email. In the meantime I did a side-by-side comparison between the CSS for my old site and the new one (I’m not very adept at this but I keep good notes and comment my changes liberally!) and found that I had to go in and change (hack?) the excerpt.PHP which apparently otherwise truncates after one line on the home page. Did monkey-see, monkey-do cut-and-paste and voilà, TablePress in all its glory shows up on VoteHealth home page. Thank you for your help. Terrifically easy to use and highly functional plugin and even more terrific support. Promised donation has been sent :).

I think this topic can be closed and if there’s a place to rate your plugin 5-stars, point me to it. Cheers.

    Hi,

ah, nice find! Yes, making a modification to the excerpt explains this.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!
