There’s an issue I’m dealing with involving a term that doesn’t seem to be indexing. The term in question is “Ge’ez” and can be found on the page attached. When searching for that exact word, the user is presented with 0 results. Thinking that the issue was the apostrophe in the middle, we set up some synonyms with no success. Here is our synonyms:

I’ve used the feature Dashboard > Admin Search and the term “Ge’ez” does not show up, indicating that Relevanssi isn’t indexing that term. This site is a multisite, which may be contributing to the issues I’m observing. I’ve also experimented with the Debugging tab in the Relevanssi settings page, but I was unable to determine how this illuminate the issue.

Do you know what might be happening here? What would be my next steps to resolve this?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Relevanssi replaces apostrophes with spaces by default, so “ge’ez” becomes “ge ez”, and that’s two two-letter words that are too short to index.

In Settings > Relevanssi > Indexing > Advanced indexing settings you can change the apostrophe setting to “Remove”. Rebuild the index, and you should be fine.
